Just 25 minutes south of Portland and just a few minutes from the colorful tourist destination of Old Orchard Beach, Saco is a family friendly town with a ton of community pride. Saco's strength comes in part from one of the town's true treasures, Thornton Academy. This private/public hybrid is the largest high school in the state of Maine. The school offers free day school for town residents, while welcoming private boarding school students from all across the country and the world.
